Since our launch in 1972, Bala Mano Vikasa Kendra has worked tirelessly to promote the well being of our students. We are fortunate to have the support of the Government of Karnataka, staff from all walks of life who bring their unique expertise and volunteers who put their hearts into helping the school. This is what enables us to make a difference in the live of these wonderful children,

While there is always more that can be done and more resources needed, there is no doubt that we are making a significant impact. Our success is measured by the ability of our students to define their own unique paths for a self reliant future. The Bala Mano Vikasa Kendra is one of the earliest institutions to be established in the state of Karnataka to address the problem of mentally challenged children. It was started in February 1972 under the auspices of Association for Pre-School Education and functioned for a short period from Malleswaram Shishuvihara on 5th cross, Malleswaram. Thereafter it moved to a one room rent free accommodation graciously given by the Gandhi Sahitya Sangha on 8th Cross, Malleswaram. From a small building in 1972 the institution has now grown into a well equipped and full fledged school with student strength of more than 60 students. The school started functioning in its present location from June 2021 and is recognized and supported by the Government of Karnataka.
